To celebrate my birthday in London was a true joy today. The day began with pictures of me with the (how I wish it were real).
From Stamford Bridge, we made a trip to the Tate Modern Museum where I saw one of my favorite Kandinsky paintings. I felt a surge of pride at all of the great American works in that museum. It was a moment.
Then on we trekked to the third Globe Theatre (you’ll have to take the tour to find out what happened to the first two). Some of you may know that I have Shakespeare’s entire works on my iPhone (yes you could say I’m a fan) and I simply adored this tour and the quaint gift shop. I must return during their season to see a play.
As if we had not had enough history, we then headed to the British Museum for mummies and such as well as a traditional British afternoon tea (too much food!).
From there, back to more shopping and then dinner at my new favorite restaurant, Little India on Gloucester Road. And tomorrow my dear Andrew leaves and I am alone in the city. I’m finally familiar enough with the Tube to get around and am looking forward to some exploring on my own. If I don’t post tomorrow night, I’m still lost so please send out a search party to find me as I must be at the Bridge for the game Saturday!
