In 79 AD, Mt. Vesuvius erupted causing two days of death and destruction, burying Pompeii in ash, and making for a remarkably well-preserved snapshot of the Roman lifestyle 2000 years ago.
This exhibit features over 250 artifacts excavated from the site, including jewelry, art, furniture and casts of full human bodies.
